Position: ADIRONDACK TEACHER CENTER DIRECTOR
General Description: Assumes chief administrative and fiscal responsibility for all Teacher Center activities, as approved by the Policy Board. Responsible for planning, implementation and evaluation of all policies, programs, and services of the Adirondack Teacher Center as established by the Policy Board. Serves as the Policy Board’s liaison with all school districts, related community agencies, colleges and the Local Education Agency. Maintains effective communication with NYS Education Department and the other Teacher Centers in NY state. Manages all fiscal accounts in accordance with guidelines established by the LEA.
Hours: This is a half-time, 12 month position.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:
Program Development & Administration:
- Design and conduct needs assessments
- Develop and monitor outcomes and activities based on identified needs
- Develop and administer programs and resource sharing
- Coordinate and develop proposals for state and supplemental funding
- Design and administer assessment/ evaluation strategies
- Prepare reports as requested by SED
- Facilitate committees as well as executive and Policy Board meetings
- Develop collaborative relationships/ networks with partners in the community, business and industry as well as other cultural and education organizations
- Represent the ATC at state, regional and local levels
- Develop and implement a plan for marketing ATC services and programs
- Maintain visibility with members
- Establish and maintain effective communication between center and members
- Coordinate ATC publications
- Act as liaison with district Boards of Education, Superintendents, Association Presidents
- Act as liaison with SED Bureau of In-Service Education as well state and regional teacher center networks
- Coordinate and develop proposals for state and supplemental funding
- Ongoing budget and facility management
- Comply with policies and procedures of the LEA
- Screen, select and orient ATC personnel
- Ongoing staff development, supervision and evaluation
- Train and direct building liaisons as well as other volunteers
- NYS Teacher Certification
- At least 4-6 years successful classroom experience.
